Literature Text

Do you remember what I said?
You cried because you knew how true it was
And I cried because I saw the truth reflected
In everyone's eyes as they watched us
Two morons, standing in the street
Crying for calamity, and they saw us
Wipe our eyes on the pavement
And it hurt but the band aids did good

When pitchforks lie in wait -
What can you do, but lock the windows
Turn off the lights
And hope they don't bring friends?

Indeed, the key is lost
Very sad story, I believe
More or less fickle, it learned to fly
and it flies all the time
In the back of his head
Where the dirty creatures play

Wordy complaint, show some restraint
Let the snake speak, his dire day has come
And he bites, to kill us all
While we crowd under the table
Waving hands and clutching hearts
If this moment were to come
Let me escape to our fantasy
Let them die, those forgotten souls
Who feel most alive when their heart is breaking
When my heart is hurting, laden with what is missing
You silly, silly, ridiculous, child
Though child no more, I declare

Whilst the glistening starlets play
Let them play, let them love and live
To know life and a real, frank, loving
Another improvisation, except for the first stanza.
